The day before the 2004 NPC Final the Canterbury rugby team flew in to Wellington at 4pm. Rebecca and her dad were there to meet them, primarily to try to get a photo of two of New Zealand's greatest players, Andrew Mehrtens and Justin Marshall.

2-3 years earlier we'd bought their book 'A Game of Two Halves' at Porirua and had it autographed at the time. We'd also taken a photo of Rebecca with them then but, to put it simply, stuffed it up.

We 'accosted' Marshy & Mehrts soon after their arrival in the airport terminal and got the photo we were after. Rebecca seized the moment to ask various other players if she could have her photo taken with them, and these are all shown below. Mehrtens, Marshall, Dan Carter, Brad Thorn, Reuben Thorne, Chris Jack, and Richie McCaw are all current or past All Blacks, as well as playing an integral part in Canterbury's very successful rugby team.

We were very grateful for their willingness to star with Rebecca in these shots. Now all they have to do is win their final match.

[P.S. They did win it, 40-27. Click here for all the details.]
