Our Queensland Holiday - Part 1

We had 16 very enjoyable days in southeast Queensland in March 2001 - staying in Brisbane (2 nights), Alexandria Headland on the Sunshine Coast (4 nights) and Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast (10 nights).

Our base in Brisbane was Kangaroo Point, 6 minutes walking distance from the river and 15 minutes from the very central South Bank with its very pleasant Breaka Beach.

After leaving Brisbane, we drove north exactly 100 kilometres (60 miles), about one and a quarter hours, to Alexandra Headland (next door to Moloolaba) on the Sunshine Coast. That was our base for the next four days, during which time we visited Aussie World, Forest Glen, the touristy village of Montville, Australia Zoo and the Big Pineapple.
