Tawa's 2009 Christmas Parade took place on Saturday, December 5th, at 2pm on a rather pleasant afternoon. It was nice to see the sun considering the 'inclement' weather we've had lately - more than enough rain and quite cool at times. Once again there were lots of participants and lots of crowd support, as shown in these photos.

Two fire engines that were part of the procession were travelling slowly up the Main Road, some distance apart, when suddenly on came the sirens and they were off, obviously having been called away to some emergency. Having witnessed 10 or more Christmas parades in Tawa, this is the first time I can recall that happening! A little extra entertainment!
