The venue was changed last year to St Francis Xavier School, and that's where this year's community carol singing took place on Tuesday December 11th. The difference was that we'd had a great start to summer and this, unlike previous years, was a very pleasant evening to be outdoors on the grass.
The festivities were led by the Salvation Army band, with choirs from Tawa Intermediate and Tawa (primary) School each singing a bracket of carols. Meanwhile a number of boys (and a certain Intermediate teacher, no less) took time out to chase the ball around the field.
The pics below show something of the crowd of several hundred enjoying the occasion which concluded with the traditional lolly scramble for the kids.
