Chocoholics Dream Nite
Friday evening, March 19, 2004
"I love chocolate" read the lettering strung across the hall. Most of us do! We expected it to be one of our more popular occasions, and it was. We also wondered whether we might break our previous record of 45 for the number of kids who turned up. We did. 62 kids, 6 adults. Phew! However we'd really only catered for a maximum of 50, because our usual numbers vary from anywhere between 20-45. Somehow we coped.
Will Warden (the church's pastor) gave us a brief talk about God always being there for us to turn to, and we rounded off the evening with ice cream and jelly (not chocolate-flavoured!) and milkshakes that were the right flavour. |
