It's one of our most popular evenings, when chocolate lovers come out in force! And they did, all 58 of them, plus a handful of leaders.

We started with a powerpoint presentation showing why chocolate is good for you. It's made of milk and fruit, etc. But the presentation went on to show the disastrous effects of eating too much chocolate. You could put on a whole lot of weight, eventually ending up huge. We showed a picture of a person who had consumed far too much chocolate over time, and it wasn't a pretty sight! In fact it's rather gross and we suggest you not see it if you don't want to be put off chocolate. So it's probably not a good idea to click here.

And so we got into our chocolate nite, not overdoing it of course! There were different challenges at times, as seen in the first two pics below - a quick dive into a bowlful of jelly to see who could surface first with the chocolate bar in her teeth. Then it was onto the good old 'throw a 6' game (with the dice). Once you'd done that, you hurriedly threw on various items of clothing and then proceeded to use a knife and fork to cut off and eat pieces of chocolate (from a large cake) - until the next person threw a 6, and that sometimes happened before you'd even got the chance to get any chocolate into your mouth!

The last pic in the first row shows a 'Happy Shake' being consumed. To win a large cake of chocolate, all this participant had to do was drink a McDonald's Happy Meal which we'd turned into a tasty 'shake' in the food processor! The first two kids whose names had been drawn out of the hat surprisingly turned down the opportunity.

The second row of photos shows those on the receiving end of the 'drop the marshmallow' relay. Mini marshmallows coated in chocolate sauce were dropped (from waist height) into the open mouth of one chosen team member lying on the floor. That's the idea of the game! Strangely enough, the target was missed more often than not with the gooey marshmallow dropping somewhere on the face of their 'victim'.

The evening was rounded off with each group of 7 kids being given a 2 litre block of ice cream to decorate and then devour.
