Sunday afternoon.
A visit to Trish & Dave's 'ranch' the other side of Lincoln.
Joanne entertaining a mouse (and various others).
Sunday evening.
Barbecue time back at Jenny & Brent's, along with the Woodend crew.
Pleasant Christchurch summer's evening.
Tuesday afternoon.
At the Antarctic Centre - dressed for the cold, the thermometer at right reading minus 4 degrees.
Ready to motor across the snow and ice.
Nicola keeping the penguins company. The Hagglund Ride. The tracked 16-seat vehicle is the same as the Hagglund ATVs used in Antarctica. Here it's heading through 'deep' water.
Tuesday evening.
At Mum & Dad's place, featuring the new conservatory.
They're very pleased with their new 'room'.
Wednesday.
Day trip to Hanmer. On a forest walk here.
Cycling tracks as well.
Lineup of silver vehicles, including our new wagon, second from right. A further (somewhat more strenous) forest walk, undertaken by a party of one - whilst the younger set hit the hot pools.
Waterfall at the end of the walk (on a rather overcast afternoon). Refreshments back in Hanmer.
Heading out of the Hanmer Basin. Homeward bound, just after the Hanmer turnoff.
Thursday afternoon.
Lunch at the Gardens with Nana & Pa.
A row on the Avon.
Some came back wetter than others! The old boatsheds.
Late Friday morning.
In the maize maze out Halswell way.
Engaging in some of the other entertainment 'on site' on a very windy nor'westerly 29 degree day.
Early Saturday morning.
Christchurch city from the Port hills.
Governors Bay at the end of Lyttelton harbour.
The kiosk at the top of the Bridal Path. Cave Rock at Sumner beach.
Leaving Jenny & Brent's place to head home. We departed about 12.40pm to get to Picton by 6pm for the 7pm Lynx sailing, finally arriving home by 10pm. On our way north - the Kaikoura Coast.
Another warm day, temperatures in the upper 20s. Travelling across the one lane rail and road bridge just north of Seddon, rather antiquated for SH1. It is to be replaced in the next year or two.
