Fonterra's view of Wellington?

Fonterra (previously known as the NZ Dairy Board) has indicated that it will be moving out of Wellington in favour of Hamilton and Auckland. A base in Hamilton makes sense but, in the opinion of some, there seems to be little reason (economic or otherwise) for basing itself in Auckland rather than Wellington, except that Auckland is where various of the "decision-makers" have decided they'd like to be. Any loyalty to Wellington or its 400 (or so) employees in the Capital appears to have flown out the window, or should that be "dropped out of the cow's backside"?
