The first challenge the kids had to meet on the night was the 'assault course', of which we have no pictures because the compiler of this page had to concentrate on making sure that no child fell from the suspended plank they were shuffling/crawling their way across! As the 'assault course' was much the same as last year's, you can get an idea of what it was like by looking at last year's pictures here.

All the photos below (except for the last one) feature the next event, the 'sumo shunt'. 32 kids then pitted themselves against four gladiators in 'bullrush', before competing against other teams in 'chariot racing' - shown in the last photo below.
