Because food evenings are our most popular, those wanting to come to 'Just Desserts' on Friday, June 25th, 2004, had to book in advance. 61 kids (a record equalling number) took part on the night. We split into 11 groups of five or six (although one group had four and another seven) before heading over to the supermarket to choose the ingredients for desserts. Each group (under the guidance of an adult or college student leader) had $15 to spend, in addition to being given a small bag of 'decorative sweets' and a few coloured popsicle sticks with which to decorate their works of art. As a group they had to decide how to spend their money, the end goal being to put together the most appealing and scrumptious-looking dessert.

Some of the finished products looked very impressive. One or two looked like dog breakfasts! Those which I thought looked best were (in no particular order) numbers 4,6, and 9 as seen below. And of course the final act was to consume/devour/eat up their creations!

[There are more than 50 pics on this page which means they may take a while to all come through - even though they're small 'thumbnails'. Grab a snack, a dessert even, while you're waiting!]
