Over the last couple of years we've had a street barbecue each November and each March (for Neighbours' Day), as well as an indoor get-together mid-winter. At the outdoor occasions we usually have 35-45 people taking part.

This time around there were slightly fewer of us - 29 plus a young pup. We did have to compete, after all, with the Hurricanes playing a late afternoon match at the Stadium (which they won comfortably against the Cheetahs)!

It was good to catch up with everyone again (well, not quite everyone, with at least a couple of "key families" not able to join us). We had an enjoyable time and were just about to launch into a game involving water balloons when it started raining. The water balloons were quickly disposed of anyway, only for it to then stop raining! Must be a lesson in there somewhere!
