Mascot St

Held on Sunday 23rd March, 2014

Mascot Street held its first Neighbours' Day on Sunday 23 March at the end of the cul-de-sac under the shade of a large palm tree (as it was 21 degrees that day). Nineteen people attended from nine households and we had a lovely time chatting while preparing the BBQ lunch with shared desserts.

As a warm-up we introduced ourselves, said how long we had lived in the street, and where we came from before moving here. One owner grew up in this street when it was all farmland and told us some history of the area. Another owner brought along a photo taken in the 1970s that a previous owner had given them.

We had quite a few laughs and those gathered were keen to meet again next year.
