As part of the "Safer Roads" campaign, we've seen a few extra roundabouts built in Tawa over the past months, as well as a number of traffic islands and 'gateways' (I think that's what they're called) at the start of certain streets. This shot shows work taking place on the corner of The Drive and Ngatitoa St late February. Whilst they're designed with the best of intentions, one has to wonder whether the powers-that-be haven't got a little carried away with it all!
