Being a few kilometres inland, Tawa doesn't exactly have its own beach. But it's only 10-12 minutes to the beach at Titahi Bay which is featured in the pics below. These were taken yesterday (Sunday 15th April, 2007) on a pleasant mid-autumn afternoon, and there were actually some people in the water!

The colourful boat-houses - as seen in several of these shots - are a distinctive feature at Titahi Bay. The South Island can be seen in the background in the last photo.
