The newspaper reported an Easter Sunday procession in Johnsonville involving three churches and around 60 people. They may not have been aware of a procession in Tawa the same day which involved five churches and around 250 people. (Others were away on holiday).
Those celebrating Easter Sunday met first of all at Tawa Baptist Church for a service of 20 minutes or so, walked from there along the Main Road to the Salvation Army for a similar-length meeting and, from there, the short distance to St Christopher's Anglican (as seen in the above pic) for the remaining part of the Easter Sunday service and hot cross buns.
