The cold snap has arrived and early morning trains take on a different sound and view. With ice forming on the overhead the result is that early morning trains create extra "snap, crackle and pop" noise and spectacular arcing (difficult to capture), but this shot gives an impression. - Photo and commentary courtesy of Alan Wickens. The morning of Tuesday 6th June, the first heavy frost of the winter. Stopped momentarily at the side of the road, the car thermometer shows how cool it was just after 8.30am. |
