Entering Tawa from the south, one passes the floral "Tawa sign" soon after leaving the motorway. 250-300 metres further on is the City Council's "Welcome to Tawa" sign - as seen here. It's also the point where various groups publicise upcoming events, as in the blue signs sponsored by a certain real estate company. The ones seen here (as at mid-August) are advertising the Guides Jamboree Garage Sale, Wellington Male Voice Choir's "Showtime", Tawa Intermediate's 2007 Major Production, and Tawa Community Theatre's upcoming "Are You Being Served?", all of which are currently featured on TawaLink's Coming Events page.
