Decorative lights were installed this past week on more than a dozen lampposts (the actual number is fourteen, or at least that's the number one of us counted) in the Main Road shopping centre, and these are being switched on in the evenings from now through December as part of an "enhanced Christmas spirit" in Tawa. The Tawa Progressive & Ratepayers' Association is behind this initiative.

Christmas lights are also due to be installed on the Norfolk pine outside the Library. These will hopefully be in place this week.
