The lights on the Norfolk pine outside the Library were finally switched on on Tuesday 12th December 2006. As the idea had been first proposed more than two years earlier, it was good to see it eventually happen. Even then it was later than the anticipated very beginning of December date. Wet weather initially delayed installation of the lights and, once they were actually in place, it was discovered that that the wrong bulbs had been used. So they all had to be replaced, meaning a delay of a further few days!
