Our "Tawa Mid-Winter Pot Luck Meal" took place on Saturday, 2 August 2008. 60-70 people joined us this time around, including Hon Peter Dunne M.P. and his wife.

It was a fairly low-key occasion with a little "quest" to keep people busy, and a few questions such as who had come the furthest for the event (someone from Palmerston North, although not specifically for our meal) and how many present expected the All Blacks to beat the Wallabies in the match taking place immediately after our meal (not a whole lot, as it turned out - doubters!).

The food was good and an enjoyable time had by all. Well, we like to think so!
