I passed this array of daffodils in a front yard (or, if you have an English slant, "front garden") in Balliol Drive on a recent morning walk. It was mid-August, and evidence that spring is on its way.
However, three days later - as though to remind us that we're not yet out of winter - we had one of the heaviest frosts in a long time, as in the second pic. Not that we've actually had that many frosts really, mainly because it's been so ridiculously wet. The day that followed the frost was a very nice one, and a reminder that spring really isn't that far away.
