The 2008 Tawa Schools & Community Festival - the Tawa Music Festival - takes place at the Michael Fowler Centre on Tuesday, 23rd September, two days after the above photos were taken. The Sunday afternoon rehearsal brought together for the first time the various groups who have been practising separately since June.

This "vibrant multi-media show" involves almost 700 participants - singers, dancers and band. Taking part will be around 400 Year 5 & 6 students from all six Tawa primary schools and the Tawa Intermediate choir, more than 140 from Tawa College's "Dawn Chorus" choir, a host of dancers and various performers, and more than 80 adult singers from Tawa and nearby communities.

The 2008 festival, "Tawa Goes to Town", is the 20th since first taking place in 1979.
