Eleven of the 34 groups who were nominated for the recent Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards were from Tawa. The awards ceremony took place in the Council Chambers early October and a representative from each group received a certificate from the Mayor, Kerry Prendergast. Congratulations to Tawa's own Mana Tiaki who won the "Arts & Culture" category and a $500 prize!

Heritage and Environment - Friends of Tawa Bush Reserves, Tawa Historical Society .
Health and Wellbeing - Redwood Club Daycare Trust, Tawa Scottish Country Dance Club, Tawa Volunteer Fire Brigade, U3A Tawa Inc
Arts and Culture - Mana Tiaki, Tawa Orchestra
Sport and Leisure - Tawa Swimming Club
Education and Child/Youth Development - Club Intermed, Scouting Tawa
