Traffic outside the schoolgate

It was back to school again last week for all eight schools in Tawa. The above pic shows how busy it gets in Duncan Street - between the College and the Intermediate - at the end of the school day, particularly on a wet day. This photo was actually taken last year, but could very well have been this week, what with the wet weather we're experiencing at the moment.

Despite pretty good weather last weekend (25 degrees in Wellington, 34 in the Wairarapa), the forecast indicates rain at times on most days this week. It's still relatively warm however, although a southerly is meant to come through in the next day or so.

Enough about the weather. In case you're not aware, Tawa College and Tawa Intermediate are immediately adjacent to each other, the College with a roll of around 1400 students and the Intermediate with 500. Both schools are held in high regard well beyond the confines of this valley.
