The kereru (native pigeon) is a quite magnificent and colourful bird, particularly in flight. At certain times of the year they're more abundant in these parts than at other times. Lately (as at June 2009) there seem to have been a few around, like this one perched on the neighbour's TV aerial. Often they perch in pairs, and sometimes for an hour or two at a time. This particular one wasn't timed. It may have only been there for a few minutes, but certainly long enough for this photo to be taken.
