Tawa College community work days

In the first week of December 2009 more than 250 Year 10 students from Tawa College were involved in giving a hand to senior and disabled Tawa residents with work they needed doing. I personally saw them some of them digging over a garden, pulling weeds, and washing a house. (Click here to see what else got "washed").

Around 60 or so different households were visited, and the young people (mostly aged 15) were involved in various chores they may well have never had the pleasure of doing before. All good experience and a great scheme on the part of the College, the second year it's been run.
