Quoting from the community email newsletter which went out at the end of January: "It's nice to have experienced some reasonable summer weather over the past week or two right here in Tawa, and it's great to have seen the pohutukawa trees in full bloom around the place in recent days. Their 'blaze of red' does make a very picturesque sight!"

This shot, overlooking Tawa, was taken from Brasenose Park in the southwest corner of the suburb. The street with cars parked on it is St Johns Tce. In the distance, at left, is Tawa College. Beyond (and above) that is the motorway, State Highway 1. In the far distance, above the motorway, is Porirua.
