Getting wet for a good cause

St Christopher's Anglican Church held its summer fair on Saturday 4th December.

Amongst the usual array of goods for sale and entertainment on offer was a sponge throw at various Tawa "identities" (well, some more identifiable than others!). Fortunately it was a great day weatherwise, because some of the targets got considerably wetter than others. And it was actually more than just a sponge throw. At least with sponges the victims have a sporting chance - often they miss their intended target. "Water blasters" on the other hand proved to be more effective in hitting their targets!

Proceedings got off to a slow start with earlier candidates not taking too much of a drenching. By the time it was the turn of the Tawa College principal to take the hot seat (so to speak), it was all go! Or maybe it was just that the punters had been waiting for their big opportunity! Another worthy target was the city councillor who followed soon afterwards. All in a good cause, as they say!
