The Lions Club of Tawa operates a weekly outdoor market in the DressSmart carpark, 24 Main Road, Tawa. Hours are 10am to 2pm each Saturday, wet or fine. The bulk of stalls are arts and crafts and related areas, with fruit and vegetables also on sale, as well as hot beverages and hot food.
Funds raised from operating the market are used by Tawa Lions to continue the Club's work in the community.

The Tawa Lions Saturday Market got under way on the last Saturday in June 2006, a cold and miserable winter's day. Both Mayor Kerry Prendergast and local M.P. Peter Dunne gave brief speeches, as shown in the pics below, before cutting the ribbon to officially declare the new market open.
