Taua Tapu track - March 30, 2003

The Taua Tapu track is a fairly easy 50-60 minute round-trip walk. It starts in Airlie Road (off State Highway 1 approaching Pukerua Bay), and about 25 minutes later reaches tar-sealed road which goes down to Plimmerton. I didn't head along the tar seal very far before deciding to turn back.

As you can see in these shots, the countryside was fairly dry at the time (the end of March). There were great views to be had, including Plimmerton in the distance (at the end of the track) and looking out towards Mana Island. It's a Sunday afternoon stroll I'd recommend.
