Four days at
Disneyland

.[Part 1].
[Part 2] . [Part 3] . [Intro]

This page features entry to Disneyland, a few shots in Main Street, and a number in Critter Country, New Orleans Square and Adventureland.

People crossing South Harbor Boulevard (our hotel was about 200m further along this road) to head into the Disneyland Resort. Lines to get into Disneyland were quite long at times, but generally shorter than this. They moved fairly quickly. The most we had to wait was 9 minutes, but usually not more than 5-6 minutes.
50th anniversary celebrations (which started in July 2005) were still continuing. Everybody gets their photo taken here - after the entry point and before hitting Main Street.
The main train station at 7.26am. This particular day we were able to enter the park early. This scene would not be so devoid of people an hour or more later. At the start of Main Street (well, actually heading away from Main Street), featuring City Hall.
Sleeping Beauty's Castle from the end of Main Street. Note the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. In front of the castle - another popular spot to be photographed.
Heading into Critter Country for our very first ride - Splash Mountain. This also turned out to be our longest wait at 50 minutes, because we hadn't planned it right. One of the sights on the ride - "Zipadee doo dah, zipadee day, my oh my, what a wonderful day ..." This is one of the most enjoyable rides in the park.
The 'official photo' of Splash Mountain's big drop. Nic didn't mind it too much at all, despite appearances to the contrary (see next photo)! We got a tad wet!
The 'Fastpass' distribution point for Splash Mountain shows the wait for those without a Fastpass at 75 minutes (as at 12.16pm on that particular day). Just across the way from Splash Mountain is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, a placid ride geared more for younger children. This shot was taken inside that ride.
The Haunted Mansion. Enchanted Tiki Room - a long-time attraction providing a cool setting on a hot day!
Gunslinger in action outside The Golden Horsehoe, providing a few moments of mildly amusing entertainment. The Mayor determining which of these blindfolded candidates is worthy of his lovely daughter's hand, the charmer in the pink dress. Pure corn, but we watched it for several minutes nevertheless!
Mark Twain Riverboat which cruises on the Rivers of America (the lake). The Sailing Ship Columbia - and Davey Crockett's Explorer Canoes on the lake.
Indiana Jones Adventure - the first time I'd ever got to 'drive' this 12-seater vehicle. Quite a privilege! Alongside one of the trucks which actually featured in the Indiana Jones movie(s).
The Jungle Cruise, another long-time 'favourite' and renowned for its corniness. What the heck, it's fun (but not one you race back to for another ride!). A number of these people were part of one long line waiting to get in to the newly revamped Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The line moved fairly quickly but there could well have been a 55 minute wait at this point.
Part-way along the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. We went on this twice, waiting a maximum of 25 minutes in line. Towards the end of the ride - our distant relation, Captain Jack Sparrow.
