Two of the offices at the new Tawa Community Centre are tenanted by Maori organisations. For that reason a specifically Maori ceremony took place at dawn this past Sunday (July 29th), at which each of the 20 or so rooms in the whole of the complex were blessed in keeping with Maori custom. Representatives of the local Maori community, Community Board members, and others associated with the Community Centre were present.

It was then back to the Boardroom for a tasty selection of kai/food (in good Maori tradition) plus a few short speeches, with each being responded to with a song. All in all a very pleasant occasion.
