Inside the Tawa Community Centre

The Tawa Community Centre in Cambridge St was opened by the Mayor, Kerry Prendergast, on Saturday, 5th May, 2007. Malcolm Sparrow, the webmaster for tawalink.com, was appointed Co-ordinator for the Centre.

Volunteers have been brought aboard (as from February 2008), ensuring that the Centre is open for anyone to call in from 10am-4pm each week day. It has been set up for the benefit of the whole community, and the intention is that it becomes a place that local people consider to be very much 'their own'.

The pics below show the main areas inside the Community Centre complex. These rooms are for hire to both community groups and to businesses.
