After widening the footpath in Duncan Street as part of the Tawa Walkway project (see "Narrowing of Duncan St"), work has moved to Findlay Street in Linden ("Tawa North") where a brand new 3m-wide footpath/walkway is being constructed on the eastern side of the road as seen in these shots.

The eventual plan is for a "shared" walkway - wide enough for both cyclists and pedestrians - to run from Willowbank Park in the south as far as Porirua City centre in the north. It's still in its very early stages, but at least work's under way. The plan in detail is available on a pdf here.
