Most of the 50+ streets scheduled to take part in "Neighbours' Weekend in Tawa" had their barbecues or afternoon teas or pot luck dinners on the weekend itself (24-25 March 2012), the others the weekend before or the weekend after.
As pointed out earlier in the month, the Tawa Temporary Supermarket was kind enough to offer the Tawa community three BBQ packs comprising the likes of sausages, bread, tomato sauce and a few other BBQ goodies. The names of all the streets "registered" at that stage were put into a hat and three were drawn out to win the BBQ packs.
One of those streets was McKeefry Grove. This pic shows Peter Bishop (left) and Doug Burrus, organisers for McKeefry Grove, displaying some of the contents of their BBQ pack on the Saturday morning of their barbecue. It was presented
to them by Louise at the Tawa Temporary Supermarket.
