We featured the following update on the front page of the TawaLink website on 4th September 2006 at the time of the Wellington City Council's (or should that be Councillors') attempts to disestablish (get rid of) the Tawa Community Board:

TELLING IT LIKE IT IS

Wellington City Councillors will be listening to oral submissions from various Tawa people in support of the Tawa Community Board on both Thursday of this week, and Thursday of next week. If any Tawa people are able to be at the Council Offices in Wellington this Thursday 7th from about 10.45am through to 1pm (or even part of that time) to hear those speaking for our community, your support would be much appreciated.

The Community Board itself will be speaking on Thursday 14 September at 9.30am. The Council's Strategy and Policy Committee will be making their decision on 21 September, and there is a Full Council Meeting on 27 September from 5.30pm to finally resolve the Council decision.

All these meetings are public, and everybody is welcome to attend.
