Closing Ceremony at the Basin Reserve

Week 10 - Saturday April 12th, 2003

Kids Games groups from different parts of the Wellington region gathered at the Basin Reserve for the Closing Ceremony on a day on which the rain came and went. A heavy downpour in the middle of the day cut short the dance and drama being performed by our own Tawa kids. After lunch we all headed to the shelter of a nearby church auditorium to see things through to completion.

The pics below show the kids enjoying the Basin Reserve playing field, the parade of the various groups, United Future party leader Peter Dunne saying a few words, the Tawa dance & drama group in action, lunch in the stands, and the official waterbucket finals.
