Spring into Tawa 2009

"Spring into Tawa" Market Day takes place in the vicinity of Tawa Plaza and the Main Road shops each September. It's an occasion for the community to come together to buy whatever's on offer at the many and varied stalls, and to enjoy some of the entertainment being provided.

Despite a record number of stalls (almost 60), this year's event was affected by rain on and off most of the morning, meaning that a certain number of stallholders had to relocate to the alleyway alongside Woolworths, and others to the alleyway alongside the lotto shop. And some of the scheduled entertainment had to be cancelled. Fortunately that didn't stop a large number of people turning up to enjoy the occasion. And, as they have done for the past several years, students from the NZ Radio Training School did a great job with MCing and running games and competitions for the younger set.
