TAWA MALL

It's not much of a mall really - most of the shops are out on the Main Road. The few that do make up the 'mall' are Woolworths supermarket (the hub of activity), Hazelwoods furniture store*, a bank and one other shop*. On the other side of the mall (closer to the Main Road) is Tawa Plaza which is home to several shops. The photos below focus on the eastern side of the mall and concentrate on the two big stores, Woolworths and Hazelwoods.

* As at mid-2010, Hazelwoods has been replaced by FC Depot (furniture store), but it has since closed leaving a large empty store. The 'other shop' mentioned above has also closed. 'Tawa Mall' now comprises the supermarket and the bank. Fortunately there are numerous shops on the Main Road itself.

Spring in Tawa Plaza - the entrance to the mall is at the far end (pre-Hazelwoods days, October 2002). 'Spring into Tawa' Market Day, September 6, 2003.

The Mall can be found a fraction up from the centre of the central Tawa map.
